Bavarian Twisted Stitches
In Austria and the Bavarian region of Germany, knitters are famous for making finely knit garments decorated with intricate patterns of traveling twisted stitches. Join André and see how to work them.
André will guide you through the process and structure of the Bavarian Twisted Stitch technique. Learn to read the older Bavarian charts and follow modern versions as you knit your own twist-stitch samples.
This workshop is in english and portuguese
Length 3 Hours
- How to work in the round with Magic Loop Technique or double-pointed needles.
- Previous experience in cable knitting is helpful.
Materials to Bring 3.5 to 4 mm (US 4 to 6), 80 cm circular needle (to knit in magic loop) OR a set of dpns, if preferred.
- Scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needle.
- The yarn that you will work in the workshop will be gifted by one of the sponsors of the festival.
