Come with me to design your unique shawl and learn more about portuguese “lace by music” technique. In this workshop I will teach you how to knit top-down shawls in different shapes: crescent, semi-circular and triangular. Let’s start by learning garter tab cast-on for shawls and get to know the most used increases and selvedges stitches. We will also explore how the location of the increases influences the geometry of the garment. Then we will learn about “Lace by music” patterns and how they are great for visual knitters. Next, we’ll see how to transform our shawl by working a “lace by music” edging seamlessly. A very unique way to make your shawl spectacular. Almost no math, but lots of yarn-overs! As usual in all my workshops I’ll be showing how to work in continental, Portuguese and English knitting styles.
