Flow Shawl – Create your own reversible half pi shawl without knitting math!

This class mix technique and creativity! It is a stress-free way to learn techniques, understand the half pi construction, and create your own shawl by choosing reversible stitches from the mini stitch dictionary without doing any math calculations!
Participants will learn the I-Cord Tab, I-Cord edges as knit and the structure of a half pi shawl.
The handout includes a half pi shawl template and a mini stitch dictionary with 9 reversible motifs. All the stitches and rows fit any section of the shawl! After the techniques to start the shawl, the participants are free to choose their favourite motifs creating their own shawl!

  • Materials needed

    Handout (given by the designer in advance)
  • Approximately 1.000 yards of fingering or Sock weight yarn (for knitting the whole shawl); or about 80 yards to knit the beginning of the shawl. You can use any yarn weight for this pattern. Just be aware about the final measurements that works for you. Yardage may vary.
  • Needles: US 6 (4 mm) 40” circular needles; US 6 (4mm) set of double points; G6 (4 mm) crochet hook. If your tension is too loose, maybe you can change the needles and crochet hook for size 5 (3.75 mm) or size 4 (3.5 mm).
  • Stitch markers (1 locking stitch marker), leftover yarn for provisional cast on and tapestry needle.
