Filipa Carneiro

My name is Filipa and I’m a knitting teacher and knitwear designer based in Lisboa, Portugal. I love all the handmade art, I started crocheting as a small child and then moved on to embroidery, some sewing and knitting. I guess the main reason why I love knitting so much is that it allows me to combine both my creative and my mathematical mind in a single work.
I love cozy knits, bold colors, clever designs and lots of vintage inspiration!

I think a knitted garment is about the whole process, right from choosing the pattern and yarn, to the stories in all the knitting nights that get tangled in your yarn and then the pleasure of wearing it proudly. In my classes, I try to empower all my students with the confidence to progress on their knitting skills and transform all their ideas into actual garments. The proud look when they wear such pieces always amazes me and fills my heart with joy, every single time!
